Smooth Operation On Shaftesbury Avenue

Paul West, Managing Director of West & Sons, a family company specialising in plastering and dry lining with 25 years' experience, was appointed by Wates Builders to carry out work on Endeavour House, shaftesbury Avenue.

This prestigious multi-storey building was suffering from penetrating dampness through the decorative stonework and Kiltox Ltd was recommended by the site architects, Rolfe Judd, to devise a solution to the problem.

Being confronted with an internal structure of concrete ring beams, columns and brickwork, along with a design requirement of build-in flush skirtings, the decorative stonework had to be untouched.  In conjunction with the architects, Kiltox agreed a specification suitable for the purpose.

The main ingredient of this KILTOX Damp Free System was KILTOX Mix No.132, a unique waterproof render, approved by the British Board of Agrément, with a quick drying capability and a long life span.  Over 90 tons of the product was successfully applied by West & Sons over a three month period.

"The building is now damp-free and fully rented", said Paul West. "After this successful project with KILTOX we are looking forward to working on future projects for the benefit of our mutual clients".
