Sky's the limit for the Millennium
The eyes of the world will be focused on Greenwich when the Millennium
celebrations start, and this should create some excellent marketing
opportunities for Kiltox.
Our public relations consultants are working with us in researching possible
opportunities for the firm to sponsor or organise an event in the run up to the
year 2000. Something we hope our clients will not only enjoy but benefit
from.
We have already obtained details from the Naval Museum about the events which
they will be hosting and we would appreciate input about other Greenwich-based
activities which may produce business opportunities.
The organisers are looking for a balance of £150 million from the private
sector and they are also inviting local firms to tender for providing facilities
and services needed at the set up of the construction site.
We have recently joined Bexley and Greenwich Chamber of Commerce and the
Greenwich Business Club to widen our contact base. We are already
receiving information from the chamber and have attended seminars organised by
the club. Both are run to provide businesses with information and
networking opportunities and they are involved with Millennium developments and
projects.
The Dome - the Millennium centrepiece will use 80,000 tons of building
materials - may remain in the borough after the celebrations and be used, for
example, for sports events or exhibitions.
