Salvation Army installs Kair for Tenants!
We were recently called in by the Salvation Army to install
new fans in some of their accommodation in Ashford.
The Old School, built in 1884, was used as a school until
1952.
The building was converted into 18 flats in 1994.
Some of the original four ventilation fans required replacing and Kiltox
were contracted to undertake this work as and when the flats became vacant.
Kair Heat Recovery Ventilator fans are being installed in
the bedrooms as well as humidistat controls to existing fans in the kitchens and
bathrooms. As each property is
different the surveyor has to evaluate each separately.
Where possible, when the existing fans are replaced they will be repaired
and installed in other locations. Properties
scheduled for similar work are located in Bournemouth, Clacton, Dartford and
Ross-on-Wye, when funds become available.
Mr Brian Sillick, Maintenance Officer of the Salvation Army
Housing Association, who has 760 properties under his management, said, “The
Salvation Army Housing Association currently houses rising 2,000 people in their
properties which are all over the country. This, as you can imagine, involves a lot of remedial work
particularly when older buildings are involved. We like to think that the properties under our control are
kept in peak condition which is why we pay attention to the small problems
before they escalate”.
