Our Kair range of equipment was on display at the BRE Resource 04 Low Carbon Technology Showcase in Watford .  Huge interest was shown from the specification market in our equipment and this will lead to our units being specified throughout the country.

The Energy Saving Trust (EST) and BRE today launched resource04, a unique four-day event highlighting the latest energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies for buildings.

resource04 provided delegates with an unparalleled insight into the challenges facing the property and construction industries as the UK looks to meet its national targets for tackling climate change.

The Minister of State for Energy, Stephen Timms MP, delivered the keynote speech on the opening day, and focused on the UK's renewable energy challenge and renewables targets for 2010 and 2050.

resource04 included a mixture of exhibitions, showcasing innovative and practical energy saving technologies and techniques, alongside a series of seminars, speeches and debates involving key figures from Government departments and industry.

As well as including a range of speakers from EST and BRE, there were contributions from the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (OFGEM), Solar Century and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), as well as a number of speakers from housing associations, architectural practices, housing developers and other organisations involved with the built environment.

The Energy Saving Trust
The Energy Saving Trust (EST) was set up by the UK Government after the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and is one of the UK's leading organisations addressing the damaging effects of climate change. EST's goal is to achieve the sustainable and efficient use of energy, to cut the carbon dioxide emissions which are the key contributor to global warming. EST is a non-profit organisation funded by governments and the private sector.

Working with a range of partners, EST focuses on delivering practical solutions for households, small firms and the road transport sector - solutions which save energy and deliver cleaner air.

Current priorities are to:

  • simulate energy efficiency in UK households and achieve social, environmental and economic benefits
  • create a market for clean fuel vehicles which will deliver local and global environmental benefits
  • simulate a market for renewable energy which will achieve social, environmental and economic benefits.
