A warmer welcome awaits at village hall
"A Village Hall, has hosted an event to celebrate its
transformation into an energy efficient building.
Heat recovery ventilation and double glazing was
installed in the hall at Upwood, transforming it into a warmer and more
energy efficient building.
The project was carried out with the help of a grant
from the national fuel charity, National Energy Action (NEA).
At the event in Upwood, residents were given energy
savings advice and free energy efficiency light bulbs were handed out.
A competition was held giving them the opportunity to
win prizes such as kettles.
Sylvia Brown, chief executive of rural action group
Acre which also supported the project said "it is widely acknowledged
that any measure, no matter how small, is a valuable contribution
towards ensuring a better world for all."
