£3000 AIR OF THE DOG - by Tracy Schaverien
July 11th 1999...
|
" LOFTY the allergic Yorkshire Terrier should soon
be breathing easier after years of wheezing, sneezing and itching.
A high-tech ventilator that rids the air of the 20th-Century
pollutants and dust mites that bug 12-year-old Lofty so much is set to end
his misery.
It's also a relief for owners Jean and Dave Barden who have spent
£3,000 trying to cure him. Dave, 56, of Braintree, Essex said:
"Lofty's always sneezing and has scratched all the hair from his
back.
"He's had cortizone injections, steroids, special shampoos and
diets - all to no avail."
Now kindly firm Kiltox have donated the £464, 5inch filter to be
fitted in the wall of the kitchen where Lofty sleeps."
