We have been supplying air
improvement products to homes and businesses throughout
the UK and internationally for over 20 years
saving heat and energy by use of heat recovery
ventilation products. We have now
extended our expertise to cover low energy and highly
efficient air conditioning units
to keep you cool on hot summer
and occasionally spring days.
How to choose the
right air conditioning unit for you:
The cooling output of all air
conditioners is measured in BTU's. (British Thermal
Units). It is very important that you choose an air
conditioner with a BTU output which is high enough to
cool your whole room.
To work out how many BTU's are needed to cool your room,
follow the simple calculation below:
Room Width x Length
x Height ( measure in feet ).
This gives you your room
size in Cubic Feet. Now multiply your cubic feet figure
by 5. This will give you your required BTU figure.
For example, room size 12ft x 15ft x
8ft = 1440 x 5 = 7200 BTU cooling requirement. (These
calculations are only a rough guide and allow for a room
with two or three people and perhaps a photocopier and
computer. For each additional person or PC add another
400 BTU's to your total.)
WARNING. If you choose an air
conditioner whose BTU output is less than that required
for your room, it will only work as a 'spot cooler' and
will not reduce the overall temperature of the room.
